SYRIZA is aiming to participate in the regional elections with its party officials, except in cases where wider gatherings can be achieved.
The issue was supposed to be the main topic at the meeting of the Political Secretariat on Monday, however there has been preliminary work by Christos Spirtzis even before the elections.
According to his report with good information from Koumoundourou www.ieidiseis.gr for the Region of Epirus, the names of Triantafyllos Albanis, Marios Katsis and Yannis Stefos, who was elected in the first elections as a SYRIZA deputy in Ioannina, but not in the second, fell on the table.
According to our information the former Rector of the University of Ioannina and a candidate for Member of Parliament of Ioannina in the recent elections – third runner-up – refused, as did the former Thesprotia MP of SYRIZA, Marios Katsis.
The lot seems to fall to the former member of parliament Yannis Stefos and the candidacy is said to be “locked” now.
