The unimaginable tragedy took place in the small town of Cottonwood in Arizona on Thursday, July 6, the police said in a press release.
The Yavapai County police chief says the mother called the local police station to report that she had run over her 13-month-old daughter, Cyra Rose.
The accident happened when the mother was moving the car outside the family home. The car was parked on a gravel lot next to the house, while the daughter was placed in a child seat in the driveway.

Died in the hospital
According to police information, the mother must have believed that her daughter was placed in a safe place while she moved the car from one place to another.
– When she moved the car, the front tire caught hold of the car seat, causing it to tip backwards. This led to the infant suffering critical injuries, the police statement says.

– Terribly tragic
The deceased girl’s uncle has set up a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe, where a photo of the one-year-old has also been shared.
On the website, the accident is described as “a terrible tragic car accident”.
“Cyra Rose Thoeming was a light in the world who brought a smile to everyone she met. You felt better after being in her presence,” writes the uncle in his memorial.

It further states:
“During her short, beautiful life she enjoyed being in nature and playing with family, friends and in the water. There was no one who didn’t smile from ear to ear after spending time with her.”
So far, just over 18,000 dollars, around NOK 190,000, has been collected. The money will cover expenses for the funeral.
