Hino Indonesia officially changed the names of three of its flagship truck products, Dutro, Profia and Ranger. This policy is carried out in line with Hino’s plan to strengthen its global identity.
Hino has 3 pillars of business operations in Indonesia through Hino Motors Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI), Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI), and Hino Finance Indonesia (HFI).

Hino officially announced the change of product name from Hino300 Dutro to Hino 300 for light duty trucks. Hino500 Ranger becomes Hino 500 for medium duty trucks, and Hino700 Profia becomes Hino 700 for heavy duty trucks in Indonesia.
This product name change is a form of global standardization from the principal, Hino Motors Limited (HML) Japan, which aims to strengthen Hino’s identity globally and simplify Hino’s product names to make it easier for customers to recognize and choose products that suit business needs wherever they are.
“We are pleased to be able to present our products with names that are more easily remembered and also identified by the public. Hino is committed to continuing to provide quality products and the best transportation solutions for the people of Indonesia,” said HMSI President Director, Takashi Muto, at Jakarta (10/7/2023).
Hino said that this product name change did not affect the quality and performance of Hino’s products. All Hino products are still equipped with the latest technology and features, and are supported by an extensive after-sales service and spare parts network in Indonesia.
“The success of Hino Indonesia for 40 years being present in Indonesia is because we continue to strive to present vehicles, both trucks and buses, which are known to be very tough, reliable and durable, supported by excellent after-sales service and spare parts. Of course, with a new name, more and more strengthen the identity of Hino’s product presence globally,” said Muto.
