The Citizens’ Council for Education and Learning Advocates for Increased Funding and Federal Influence on Early Childhood Education in Germany

The Citizens’ Council for Education and Learning demands more money for early childhood education and the federal government would like to have more influence on the subject of education. Since the end of 2020, the forum has been working with people from all over Germany to develop proposals and ideas to improve the education system in Germany. “Early childhood education is important in order to achieve equal opportunities. But there are far too few day-care centers, for example, and something has to change in the training and payment of educators,” says Brigitte Halfort from Constance, who also sits on the Citizens’ Council. But the citizens’ council also calls for changes in the structures. For example, more federal influence on education would be desirable.
