Number of foreclosures increases in Germany in the first half of 2023 by 9% compared to the same period of the previous year
Die current evaluations von Your ImmoCenter show that in Germany the number of dates for foreclosures published daily in the first half of 2023 increased by 9% compared to the same period last year. While in the first half of 2022 an average of 55 new objects were published per day, in 2023 there were already 61 new objects. Especially in the first quarter of 2023, with an average of around 64 new objects per day, a particularly large number of new objects came into foreclosure.
Foreclosure sales are therefore likely to continue to gain in importance. Potential buyers continue to show great interest in the properties. Only recently we visited the foreclosure auction of a condominium in Frankfurt am Main, where we were able to observe a real bidding duel (go to Article).
Number of foreclosures increases in Austria in the first half of 2023 by 13% compared to the same period of the previous year
In Austria, the current figures on the number of foreclosures also show an upward trend. While in the first half of 2022 an average of 3.2 foreclosures were published daily, in the first half of 2023 there were already around 3.6 foreclosures. This corresponds to an increase of around 13%. The auction figures were overall higher on average in the first half of 2023 than in the same period of the previous year.
Number of foreclosures increases in Switzerland in the first half of 2023 by 66% compared to the same period of the previous year
Of the countries in the DACH region, Switzerland will have the largest increase in new foreclosure dates in 2023, with growth of around 66% compared to the same period in the previous year. In the first two quarters of 2023, with an average of 8.32 daily auctions in the 1st quarter and an average of 7.21 daily auctions in the 2nd quarter, significantly more auctions were published than in all quarters of the previous year.
