Star Wars Jedi: Survivor received a very good reception from both reviewers and regular players when it came out in April, so considering that the director has constantly talked about making a trilogy and EA’s habit of churning out sequels to successes does not come today’s news like a shock.
Respawn has posted some job ads, and several of them almost confirm that we will get a third Star Wars Jedi game from the studio. The clearest examples of this are the ads for a Principal Game Writer and a Senior VFX Artist which simply notes the position is for a project in the Star Wars Jedi universe. Doesn’t sound like an expansion or anything like that for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor either, for applicants with Unreal Engine 5 experience is a big plus. Survivor uses UE4, and the chance of the studio upgrading the entire game to Epic’s latest engine is extremely low. Thus, it probably won’t take an extremely long time before the trilogy is completed either. After all, the developers only spent 3.5 years between Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and this year’s sequel.
