A woman in her 30s who falsely reported to 112 that she had been sexually assaulted by her boyfriend because she couldn’t reach her was arrested by the police.
According to Yonhap News, the Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Police Station announced on the 10th that it had referred Mr. A to a summary trial for violating the Minor Crime Punishment Act (false report).
Mr. A is suspected of calling 112 in front of an apartment complex in Cheongbuk-eup, Pyeongtaek-si at 1:10 am on the 9th and falsely reporting that he was “raped by his boyfriend.”
When the dispatched police asked about the incident, Mr. A said, “I think I was sexually assaulted,” and eventually confessed that it was a false report.
It is known that Mr. A stated that he committed such a crime because he was angry because he could not contact his boyfriend and did not come to pick him up.
As a result, the police referred A to summary judgment. The summary judgment is a summary trial that does not go through formal criminal proceedings for minor crimes (fines of 200,000 won or less, etc.), and no criminal record remains.
A police official explained, “Three patrol cars were dispatched to the report of sexual assault, but it was not true.
