The first of the series of summer films, Sun, Hay, Strawberries, is undoubtedly one of the most popular in the Czech Republic. Although the film is literally sunlit, not everything was bathed in sunshine during filming. Except Helena Růžičková (†67), who unforgettably portrayed the quirky Škopková, the young student Šimon Plánička also won the hearts of the audience in the performance Pavel Kikinčuk (63). But in the end, he played only in the first of the three parts of the comedy, even though he was originally supposed to appear in the sequel Sun, hay and a couple of faces.

Poisonous mushrooms
The director himself talked about the reasons why this was so in the Tobogán program on Czech Radio Dvojce A little bit. And it must be said that he did not take napkins. “Again, some poisonous mushrooms said that he (Kikinchuk – editor’s note) said that he would not play in such a shit, and therefore refused to play, which is not true at all!” Troško, who initially did not even want to name the author of the statements, did not hide his annoyance.
But then he “accidentally” said: “I’m surprised that Peter Markov keeps spreading it. After all, he wasn’t there…” the director revealed the person he says he is very angry with. We were talking about screenwriter Petar Markov (77), who participated in writing all the episodes.

He walled up the filming
But as it happens, the reality was completely different. And Kikinchuk himself (63) justified his absence in the continuation of the famous comedy in a much more prosaic way – he simply forgot about filming! “At that time, I went with my parents to the Berlin lakes and sunbathed there… At that time, the production was looking for me,” the actor explained the reason why he disappeared from other parts of famous comedies. Even though Kikinčuk apparently did not prove to be a very reliable actor, Troška did not resent him and cast him not only in the comedies Babovřesky, but also in the fairy tale Nejkrásnější hánka.
