Closing the weekend, on Sunday night, the president of Corinthians, Duilio Monteiro Alves, gave an interview to CNN Brazil. The agent revealed that in the next few days he should close sponsorship for women’s football and that with this the modality becomes self-sustainable.
“We made a huge investment in marketing for other sports. Corinthians is not just football. Today we have a specific marketing department working with other sports, such as futsal, swimming and basketball. Our women’s football, which today wins everything, puts on great shows, is a wonderful team’ began the president.
“Today it is becoming, with the last sponsorship that we are going to close in the next few days, self-sustaining. It is a high amount invested and today we already manage with our sponsors that we start to have positive results”, revealed Duilio.
If the deal goes through, this should be the second sponsorship in the season that Corinthians closes for the women’s team. In February of this year, the alvinegra board entered into a partnership with Granito Pagamentos, which has space on the front of the alvinegro uniform, at the bottom, not being the master sponsor.
At the beginning of the year, the my helm had informed that Corinthians was looking for a master sponsor for the women’s team. Timão’s women’s team has not had a main sponsorship since the end of 2021, when the contract with Spani Atacadista ended. Duilio did not give further details of the negotiation and said that he cannot reveal the company for reasons of being in the final negotiation process.
