NEW DELHI – A group of scientists believe fractions Planet Theia nested in the earth’s mantle since the collision that occurred 4.5 billion years ago. Even in a study called alien planets could be “hidden in the center of the Earth”.
Experts think that a planet called Theia that may have collided with Earth could have left debris in our planet’s interior.
Some scientists thought the same impact in space formed the Moon, but now they have studied specific traces of the impact buried deep in Earth’s mantle.
Qian Yuan, a geologist at Arizona State University in the US, argues that the mysterious solid point in our planet’s interior is a specific part of Theia that is still intact inside Earth.
In a paper presented at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, Yuan and his team explain:
“Here, we show that Theia’s mantle may be several% intrinsically denser than Earth’s mantle, which allows Theia’s mantle material to sink into the Earth’s lower mantle and accumulate into thermochemical piles that can lead to seismic observations (dense areas). “
Yuan then said: “This crazy idea is at least possible.”
Scientists identified specific parts of Earth’s interior where Theia’s pieces could still lodge. The theory that Theia collided with Earth is known as the giant impact hypothesis.
