Lee Kang-in, the Korean national football team who played in Mallorca, Spain, transferred to Paris Saint-Germain, a prestigious French club.
Paris Saint-Germain said on the club’s website, “We have completed the transfer process with Mallorca. We have signed a contract with Lee Kang-in until 2028.”
Lee Kang-in, who was born in 2001 and is considered to be the future of Korean football, showed off his skills at Paris Saint-Germain, one of the world’s most prestigious clubs.
Lee Kang-in, who made his first-team debut in Valencia CF at the age of 17 in October 2018, has since digested a total of five seasons on the La Liga stage. Lee Kang-in, who scored 10 goals in 135 matches in Spain (3 goals in 62 matches in Valencia and 7 goals in 73 matches in Mallorca), is now starting the second act of his football life in French Ligue 1.
Lee Kang-in, who became the first Korean player in the history of the Paris Saint-Germain club, said in an interview that he joined the club, “This is a team I have known since I was young. Paris Saint-Germain is one of the best teams in the world. It is a team with the best players in the world. I want to take risks. I want to win every game and help him win as many titles as possible.”
While it is known that Lee Kang-in will replace the vacancy of Lionel Messi, who left for the United States, the fact that Luis Enrique, who was appointed as the new manager, is from Spain is expected to help Lee Kang-in adapt.
Lee Kang-in, who will join Paris Saint-Germain’s pre-season training starting tomorrow, will make his debut on the Asian tour in Japan at the end of this month.
