Kazakh Elena Rybakina, seeded No. 3, easily beat wild card Katie Boulter (6-1, 6-1) and reached the knockout stages of Wimbledon on Saturday evening in London.
It is the third time in a row that the world number three has reached this stage of the competition at Wimbledon. Last year, Elena Rybakina won her first Grand Slam tournament on the London lawn.
Rybakina, 3rd player in the world at the WTA, will be opposed to the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, seeded n°13 during the round of 16 of the London tournament.
The Kazakh had eliminated the American Shelby Rogers (4-6, 6-1, 6-2), and the French Alize Cornet (6-2, 7-6 [2]), before his victory against Boulter, ranked at number 89 in the WTA, on Saturday.
Katie Boulter won against Australian Daria Saville (7-6 [4]6-2), and against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (6-0, 3-6, 6-3).
