Rumen Ovcharov built a seaside hacienda on the first line to the sea. The former minister of energy is the proud owner of a 5-story villa, which looks almost like a hotel, which is located on the Northern Black Sea coast, in the resort of Byala. The massive building, which imitates the Revival architecture in Old Plovdiv and Koprivshtitsa, rises on a cliff literally meters from the beach. Ovcharov and his family have access to the shore directly from their yard thanks to a staircase that leads to the sandy beach. The large-scale investment has absorbed a serious amount, and according to real estate experts, the socialist’s house is currently worth more than 1 million euros.
His two daughters and his grandchildren are staying at the former minister’s property. The younger Teodora gifted him with a granddaughter in 2021. She was a candidate for MP on BSP lists several times, including while she was heavily pregnant, but failed to qualify for a seat in any parliament. Teodora has been in politics for a long time, and since 2020, only 30 years old, she became part of the National Assembly of the BSP alongside her father, who is among the most established names in the red party. Before that, she worked in the international department of “Positano” 20 and was an advisor to MEP Petar Vitanov after the European elections in 2019.
Theodora and her husband Valentin, who married in the summer of 2019 on a private Greek beach on the Halkidiki peninsula, live apart from her parents, who occupy a huge villa in the village of Sarantsi, near Sofia, when they are not at their seaside estate.
Her mother Yana already has extensive experience in parenting and is the mother of 3 children. She blessed the former energy minister with two grandsons and one granddaughter. The eldest of them, Adrian, is already a teenager. The ex-minister also gave him some of his favorite hobbies – mountain climbing and mushroom picking. Ovcharov’s older daughter also has a solid education and is an economist by profession, and years ago she stumbled into the music industry. For a while, she ventured as a singer and even recorded a duet with the Cuban Alfredo Torres.
In Byala, the Ovcharovi family also act as eco-activists. The young daughter of the former minister shared on social networks that they regularly clean the beach from the garbage that unscrupulous tourists leave behind.
