Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea confirmed his departure from Manchester United through a “farewell message” on social media addressed to supporters of the Old Trafford emblem.
“I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love of the past 12 years. We have achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club. I was incredibly proud every time I wore this jersey to lead the team, to represent this institution, the biggest club in the world. It was an honor that is only granted to a few lucky players», he began by writing.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper, remember, ended his contract with the red devils on 30 June, but the club reported that negotiations were still under way with a view to renewing the bond that linked the two parties. Now, Spanish is free on the market.
De Gea arrived at United in 2011 after two top-flight seasons at Atlético Madrid, where he graduated and started his career at senior level.
