On the “Telegram” website, Zelenskiy informed that on Snake Island he paid tribute to the hero who gave his life in the battle for the island.

“500 days of all-out war. Snake Island. Free Island of Free Ukraine. I thank everyone who stood here against the occupiers,” wrote the president of Ukraine.
“We honored the memory of those heroes who gave their lives in this battle, which is one of the most significant during the all-out war,” added Zelensky.

According to reports, on the first day of the war, on February 24 last year, Russian troops seized Ukraine’s Snake Island, which is located in the Black Sea near the Danube Delta, and an audio recording of a Russian warship calling for the soldiers of the Ukrainian garrison to surrender was circulated on social networks, but they refused to do so. to do, announcing “Russian ships, go nah*j!”
