Czech hockey legend Dominik Hašek has sharply criticized any cooperation with Russia since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. He does not like the approach of his compatriots who continue to operate in the KHL, especially because the aggressor uses hockey to promote war.
The Olympic gold medalist from Nagano also recently commented on the transfer of David Sklenička to Barys Astana. However, he urged people not to curse the players themselves, but rather the politicians who do not protect people and society from the dangerous actions of the law.
Please don’t spit on the players, but on our 200 MPs and 81 senators. Even after a year and a half of war, they do not protect us from this very dangerous behavior for society and allies by law. Our citizens create values in the enemy’s country that he uses against us and allies🇺🇦 https://t.co/O2ngHjchYZ

The post did not remain unanswered for long. Former hockey player and now MP Vjačeslav Fetisov also joined the stormy discussion, who took Dominik Hašek’s opinion to heart.
Dominik Hašek transferred to Spartak Moscow at the end of his career. He played 46 games in the newly created Kontinental Hockey League during the 2010/2011 season.
“It doesn’t surprise me at all. Dominik played with us, for quite good money. Why should he deprive others of the opportunity to play and earn money? That’s kind of stupid. Let him return the money he earned here, then everything will be fair.” responded according to Vseprosport Fetisov.
