The Estonian Central Party is a political party with a dignified history and an important political mission. A political party that has always stood for a fair and united country and the well-being of every person. It must continue to be so. Unfortunately, our party is currently going through difficult times, as the internal power struggle is hindering the development of the organization and the strengthening of the regions.
The Center Party stands at a crossroads. At the extraordinary congress, we will jointly decide the future direction of the party, and it depends on the choices of all of us whether we can once again become the leading force of Estonian politics. Our competitors hope to see the breakup of the Center Party, but we will prove to them and to ourselves that we can unite behind common goals and values. This requires teamwork and putting the interests of Estonia and the Center Party above personal ambitions.
It is the duty of the chairman and board of the Central Party to carry forward the ideas and principles that originated in the People’s Front movement. Stand up for social justice and the well-being of every person in Estonia, regardless of their gender, age, nationality or place of residence. We support Tanel Kiike, the current vice-chairman and chairman of the Riigikogu’s Center Party faction, as the future chairman of the Central Party, who has contributed to the party’s activities and election campaigns for nearly 15 years.
Tanel has stood for the world view of the Center Party in two governments, the Riigikogu and the Tallinn City Government and Council. He has also managed the prime minister’s office, worked in the Central Party office and helped prepare several election platforms and party strategies. Tanel is a leader who connects people and looks for solutions. We are convinced that his previous leadership experience, versatile knowledge and personal qualities will help him successfully move the party forward.
We invite party members to support Tanel Kiike as the new chairman at the extraordinary congress!
