For Virginia Nault, a weekend with her boyfriend is not synonymous with fun or a waste of love, but suffering, and not precisely because she can’t stand it anymore and wants to break up with him, quite the opposite, because she found out she’s allergic in his presence, how so? This is the unusual story of a 22-year-old girl who went viral in the United States.
In this situation, the popular phrase “she loves him, but she knows it hurts” applies, and the fact is that the young woman from Boston, Massachusetts, always thought it was a seasonal allergy, but she ruled it out when she noticed that the symptoms appeared after having been with your partner.
According to her story, it all started in December 2022 when she began dating Steve Johnson, whom she met on a dating app. Everything was perfect, until she noticed that something was wrong with her and her health was compromised.
“I’m allergic to my boyfriend”
She experiences itchy, red skin and watery eyes. “It started with very itchy eyes and watery (…) We realized that after spending a few days in his apartment, I would break out a very bad rash the following week and feel pretty bad for a few days,” he explained. the young woman according to New York Post.
It all seemed very strange to her because she noticed that her skin was recovering in the middle of the week, and it was affected again after spending a weekend with her boyfriend Steve. “There’s something about him that makes me have this reaction (…) I’m allergic to him.”
As expected, the comments were not long in coming and more than one questioned the man’s possible infidelity, because for her “something in the air in her apartment, a body product or something she is using” may be responsible. As this idea of betrayal has always been around, Virginia was quick to state that “when people say my boyfriend is cheating on me, it’s one of those things that makes me laugh. At the end of the day, they don’t know me, they don’t know him, and they don’t know our relationship.”
The truth is that they have gone to the dermatologist, two allergists and an ophthalmologist looking for answers, but the specialists have classified the reactions as “stressful”, something that makes them laugh. “They will do an environmental test and another test of products and ingredients. I have to say that we have already narrowed the field: we know that it is not because of the shampoo, nor the detergent or conditioner.
“He has been so patient and so supportive of everything, and he is as frustrated as I am,” explained the woman who has already been to the hospital emergency room because of how bad she felt and had to take antihistamines and steroids.
