The Hague –
The Prime Minister (PM) of the Netherlands Mark Rutte plans to resign from his post. Rutte will soon submit his resignation to the King of the Netherlands.
“I will immediately present my resignation in writing to the king on behalf of the entire government,” Rutte told a press conference, as reported by AFP, Saturday (8/7/2023).
Rutte resigned from office due to the political crisis of his party’s supporters in parliament. The reason for Rutte’s resignation was that there were disagreements between his coalition parties over “irreconcilable” steps to stem migration.
“Tonight unfortunately we have reached the conclusion that the differences cannot be overcome,” said Rutte.
Rutte is a politician who was born on February 14, 1967. He has served as PM of the Netherlands since October 14, 2011.
Last month, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte officially recognized Indonesia’s independence on August 17, 1945. Rutte stated that he would consult further with Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to see how this could be recognized and implemented together.
Rutte made this acknowledgment in a debate session in the Dutch parliament discussing the question of decolonization studies in 1945-1950 on Wednesday (14/6) local time. This was reported by the Dutch local media, AD.nl and quoted by Mina News, Thursday (15/6).
“The Netherlands acknowledges ‘fully and unconditionally’ that Indonesia became independent on August 17, 1945,” said Rutte in the Dutch parliamentary debate session.
