Mineral and organic fertilizers to feed tomatoes in July
During the growing season, tomatoes are fertilized four times. The main dressings are applied at the beginning of the flowering of the bushes, as well as when the ovary is formed. If during this period the tomatoes do not receive enough nutrients, a lot of empty flowers will form, and the fruits, if any, will be small.
How to feed tomatoes during flowering and budding.
As soon as buds and flowers appear on the tomatoes, you need to feed the tomatoes with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers. We offer different options for feeding tomatoes.
Dilute 5 g of potassium monophosphate in 10 liters of water. Pour this solution on tomato bushes in July 2 times with an interval of two weeks. Superphosphate or double superphosphate must be dissolved in hot water. First, dissolve two tablespoons of superphosphate in one liter of hot water. Then dilute 1 part of this remedy in 10 parts of water. Dissolve a tablespoon of superphosphate and a teaspoon of potassium sulfate in 10 liters of water. In 10 liters of water, dissolve a tablespoon of superphosphate and two tablespoons of wood ash. In 10 liters of water, dilute one tablespoon of nitrophoska and one teaspoon of dry potassium humate powder. Potassium sulfate can be fed dry – add 20 grams per 1 square meter with an interval of two weeks.
Tomatoes can be fertilized by both watering and spraying the plant with solutions of mineral fertilizers. Both spray and water in the evening, when there is no heat of the day, or in the morning on a cloudy day. If the sun is very hot, the liquid will simply evaporate, and a burn may appear on the leaves.
Those who do not want to use chemistry for feeding can use organic fertilizers.
A simple and effective top dressing is top dressing with yeast. 100-150 g of fresh yeast is dissolved in 1 liter of warm water. After the start of fermentation, the solution is poured into 10 liters of water and the tomatoes are poured under the very root. Ash is not only a source of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, but also an effective remedy for many pests. Top dressing of tomatoes with ash is carried out both in dry form and diluted in water. Iodine promotes friendly rapid flowering and fruit set. For 10 liters of water, 6-8 drops are measured with a pipette and mixed with 0.5 liters of ordinary serum. The resulting solution is watered beds. Boric acid also improves fruiting. Two tablespoons of boric acid are diluted in 10 liters of water, after which the plants are fed under the root.
