Slovak footballer Matej Čurma will strengthen the newcomer of the highest Czech competition MFK Karviná. The 27-year-old defender came to the club as a free agent when his contract with Spartak Trnava expired at the end of last season.
Čurma will try a foreign engagement for the first time in his career. Until now, he worked exclusively in Slovakia, in addition to Trnava, he also wore the jersey of Ružomberok. Karvinej gave preference to offers from Poland. “I am glad that everything was agreed and signed. I’m used to nice facilities and a stadium from Trnava, so I’m looking forward to the start of the season.” he told the club’s website.
He played 114 matches in the highest Slovak competition and scored one goal. He should make his debut in the new jersey on Saturday in a preparatory meeting against his former club MFK Ružomberok. “We needed to strengthen both sides of the defense. I believe that Matej will handle his role at the ideal football age and will be a reinforcement for us.” remarked the sports director of MFK Karviná Lubomír Vlk.
