Remembering Alexei Kuznetsov: A Unique Talent Lost in the Russian Theater

The Russian theater has lost a unique actor.

The sad news was reported at the Vakhtangov Theater: 82-year-old actor Alexei Kuznetsov died. He is most remembered by the audience for the role of the Duke of Buckingham in the film “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers”.

Alexey Kuznetsov served in the Vakhtangov Theater for 55 years. He played dozens of roles, staged his own performances and trained new generations of actors at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute. He received the title of Honored Artist of Russia, but the actor’s filmography was offensively small.

Kuznetsov played only three dozen roles in the cinema, because he always preferred the theater. It remains only to regret that many viewers were not able to appreciate his talent – Alexei Glebovich not only embodied the characters wonderfully, but also played the guitar and sang beautifully.

The last time Alexey Kuznetsov appeared on the screens was in 2022. He played the role of the scientist Vasily Prozorov in the drama “The French Master”. The actor appeared on the screen as a deep old man, at the sight of which his heart aches.
