Reported by detikSulsel, Friday (7/7/2023), the incident occurred at a garden house in Lapole Village, Maligano District, Muna, on Thursday (6/7) around 20.30 WITA. Head of Lapole Village, Kamarudin, said that initially the victim and his siblings and grandmother went to the garden when it was getting dark.
Kamarudin said the victim and his siblings and grandmother slept in his garden house with the victim in the middle right beside his grandmother. He said the victim was known to be entangled in a snake at around 20.30 WITA. At that time, the victim’s grandmother woke up in shock.
“This grandmother hugged the victim but she felt slippery, then she woke up shocked that the snake had wrapped itself around the victim,” said Kamarudin.
Suddenly the grandmother screamed seeing the condition of the victim who had been entangled and bitten by a python, the victim’s brother woke up and also immediately asked for help from the local residents. Residents who were not far from the location immediately went to the victim, removed the snake’s bite from the victim’s head and slashed the snake’s head with a machete.
“Their neighbors in the garden also spent the night, so about 15 minutes a resident named La Fery came to help after hearing the victim’s grandmother scream,” he said.
Kamarudin added that the victim had been buried this afternoon. While the snake that bit the victim was burned by local residents.
