Annette Herfkens never expected that a short flight with her supposedly romantic fiancé would turn into such a horrific disaster. Reported from New York Poston November 14, 1992, Annette and Willem van der Pas alias Pasje who had been together for 13 years boarded Vietnam Airlines, flight VN474 from Ho Chi Minh City for a 5-day vacation in Nha Trang, a resort in the South China Sea.
Unfortunately, the plane carrying 31 people never reached its destination because it crashed into a remote mountain ridge and then fell to pieces in the middle of the wilderness. Only Annette survived to the end.
Previously, this 31-year-old Dutch woman was afraid to get on a plane because she saw her small size. However, Pasje reassured him by saying that it would take a long time to go by land and besides the terrain was very extreme.
As a result, Annette agreed to go by air. About 50 minutes later, they started to feel quite strong shaking inside the plane. Not long after, the plane crashed in the middle of the forest.

Annette regained consciousness after four or five hours of fainting. His body was covered in wounds, his hips broken, his lungs collapsed, and his jaw slack. Along with time, gangrene happened to his legs. He saw bodies scattered around him, including Pasje.
Actually, a passenger from Vietnam was observed to be alive, but his injuries were very serious. After a few hours, the man died. Annette realized that she was alone in the forest.
