Renowned Criminal Lawyer and Soccer Leader Víctor Della Valle Passes Away at 80

The criminal lawyer and soccer leader Víctor Della Valle died this Friday at the age of 80, as reported telenoche. He was president of the Nacional club in 2006, founder of the El Tanque Sisley club and president of the El Tanque Sisley Cultural and Sports Center for 12 years.

Della Valle directed the law firm Della Valle & Balbi together with his nephew, the current president of Nacional, Alejandro Balbi, and had more than 60 years in the profession. The renowned lawyer began practicing as a lawyer in 1963 and his firm participated in emblematic cases such as Operation Ocean, the defense of Sebastián Marset, Rocco Morabito, Gerardo González Valencia, Juan Carlos Bengoa, Marcelo Balcedo, Lulukhy Moraes, Edward Vela Yern, among others.

In 2018, he denounced Tenfield for having pressured Tanque Sisley to vote in his favor in the Uruguayan Football Association.

In the early 1990s, he was prosecuted with prison in the framework of an investigation into human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, but the Court of Appeals overturned the ruling, acquitting him.

In March of this year, Della Valle was honored upon completing 60 years of experience in a meeting in which some 70 people participated, including the current court prosecutor Juan Gómez, as well as other prosecutors and criminal lawyers.
