Three stallions tested positive for the Rhino virus at Landgestüt Celle. The stallions were generally in good condition, but developed fever symptoms two weeks ago. The German stud farm vaccinates all horses against Rhino, so initially there was no reason to think about the virus. Last Tuesday the stallion got Brixton (v. Borsalino) neurological symptoms and Rhino has been diagnosed on the farm.
After the neurological symptoms in the stallion Brixton, the two other horses are with a fever, Bloomingdale (v. Belantis) and Further (v. Viscount), also tested positive for Rhino. All other stallions have tested negative so far. Landgestüt Celle temperature all horses on the farm twice a day and they are also not allowed to leave the premises until the end of July. The stallions that tested positive for Rhino were immediately removed from breeding.
