Tele 5 shows “Red Sky” this Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 8:15 p.m. You won’t see Tom Cruise in it (he will be in cinemas from July 13th in “Mission: Impossible 7”), but there will be a group of well-known faces. The Russian-American co-production may have had military support from both Russia and the US, but unfortunately that doesn’t make Butch Masters a maverick. Instead, “Red Sky” is the cheap version of the cruise blockbuster – although this also has to be classified correctly:
Because even if the special effects in the trailer can’t keep up with Hollywood’s A-League (or B-League…), they aren’t nearly as bad as the CGI thunderstorms that can be seen in the mockbusters from Asylum (including “Sharknado “) knows. Fans of the star ensemble and of trashy-looking action spectacles can take a look – but they should approach the film with the right expectations.
