A Code Orange has been announced for Friday in 3 regions of Central and North-Eastern Bulgaria for intense rainfall and thunderstorms.
The code applies to the districts of Velikotarnovska, Targovishtka and Shumenska. There will be short-lived, temporarily intense and significant rainfall. Estimated quantities up to 40-55 mm.
There are also conditions for hail. A yellow code for torrential rains and storms has been announced in 12 regions of Northern and Eastern Bulgaria – these are the regions of Plevenska, Loveshka, Gabrovska,
Starozagorska, Slivenska, Yambolska, Burgasska, Varnaska, Dobrichka, Silistrenska, Razgradska and Rusenska. There will be short-lived, temporarily intense and significant rainfall.
Expected amounts are 25-35 mm, locally and more. There are also conditions for hail.
Weather in July: Heat and rain with thunder will alternate
It will be mostly sunny before noon. After noon and overnight on Saturday, strong cumulus clouds will develop and in many places there will be short-lived, temporarily intense precipitation and thunderstorms. In the region of the Central Balkans, the Ludogoriets and South-Eastern Bulgaria, the phenomena will be more intense, and in some places the precipitation will be significant. There will also be hail. Moderate and strong winds will blow from the west-northwest, in the eastern areas from the north. The maximum temperatures will be between 27° and 32°, in Sofia – around 28°.
It will be mostly sunny in the mountains before noon. After noon, a powerful cumulus-rainstorm will develop cloudy and in many places there will be short-term precipitation, thunder and temporary strengthening of the wind. In the Central Balkan region, Strandzha and Sakar, the phenomena will be intense and the precipitation will be significant. A moderate to strong wind will blow from the north-northwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be about 22°, at 2000 meters – about 16°.
It will be mostly sunny along the Black Sea coast, after noon with the development of cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds. In the evening and overnight Saturday there will be short-lived, temporarily intense showers and thunderstorms, in more places along the southern coast. Moderate to strong winds will blow from the north-northwest. Maximum temperatures will be 27°-29°. The temperature of the sea water is 22°-26°. The excitement of the sea will be 2-3 points.
