A Turkish truck ran over a Bulgarian driver in the queue of trucks in the last meters before the “Captain Andreevo” checkpoint, the Road Police – Haskovo reported.
The road accident happened around 5 pm on Thursday. The truck, driven by the Bulgarian driver, was traveling to Turkey. It was parked on the road about 80 meters before the first barrier, where, along with other trucks, it was waiting to be let through at the checkpoint, bTV reports.
The driver got out and went to the back of the truck when the Turkish truck failed to stop and ran over him.
The Turkish driver was detained for 24 hours under the Law on the Interior. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
