Since the previous Autocross.lv describes the progress of our “Danish”, three stages of the Danish Folkrace Cup have been completed, five of the seven races of the season have been won. During this time, the performance of Latvian drivers Jānis Pētersons, Armands Siļs and Raimonds Žvaginas was very respectable – all of them reached the final nine times (top-6), three podiums for Latvians. Peterson’s stability allows him to continue the fight for the overall victory, which he started last year. True, the last stages have to be done especially brightly in order to catch the two leaders in front.
The highest result of the season in the first stage in Leuvelbanen was achieved by Raimonds Žwagin, taking second place. True, later his season turned out not so successfully – no finals in all stages, moreover, due to an injury in the second race, Raimonds missed the third race. In the overall rating, Žvagin remains in the top ten – eighth.
Jānis Pētersons leads the most stable fight. The runner-up of last year’s season was in the group of finalists in all stages this year. Two third and two fourth places were achieved, but in the fourth stage Nerlundbanen experienced withdrawal from the finals (sixth place). Such a stable performance keeps Jānis in the top three. At the moment, the real winners of the overall standings are Martin Kristiansen Overgård, who scored three wins and two second places, as well as Rasmus Larsen with two wins and two second places. However, Peterson is currently still in position to claim the overall victory. True, the last stages must be perfect.
For Armand Sil, the season started with modest results – 17th and eighth place in the first race. However, later on, the progress is obvious, as the fifth and two fourth places were achieved in the summer stages. Armands thus moved up to fifth place in the overall standings, with theoretical hopes for third place in the overall standings.
There are two stages left in the series, but before that a visit of Danish Latvians to our race is possible!
