Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, said that Yevgeny Prigoshin, the head of the Wagner Group, who carried out an armed uprising in Minsk, Russia, is in Russia. Lukashenko had earlier said that Prigoshyn and his troops had arrived in Belarus as per a prior agreement. However, speaking to international media on Thursday, he revealed that Prigoshin was in St. Petersburg, Russia. At the behest of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prigozhin agreed to end the insurgency in Moscow during talks conducted by Lukashenko. Read on deshabhimani.com
