“There was a moment. I was traveling on the Orient Express. In Venice, a guy followed me and said, ‘Can I take a picture, please?’ And then he asked me: ‘Are you the one I think?’ And I: ‘Who do you think I am?’ And he: ‘Nadal’. And I: ‘I’m very sorry, I’m not.'” Federer said.
The 41-year-old continued: “Then I kept walking and he looked at me and thought, ‘It’s such a shame it’s not Nadal.’ He kept looking at me and I thought maybe he’d figure it out, but he didn’t.”
After all, the photo didn’t exist. “He missed his moment, but he didn’t want a picture with me, but with Rafa. There are moments like that sometimes,” said Federer.
