27-year-old Warholm opened the season with 46.52 and the year’s best in the world during the Bislett Games in mid-June. It was his second fastest time ever.
He holds the world record himself. It was set in the Olympics in Tokyo with a time of 45.94.
He is approaching 45 again.
– We can start fantasizing about it, said the 27-year-old.
It will take a lot if Warholm does not get his sixth King’s Cup. No man has more than that in history. Sverre Strandli and Andreas Thorkildsen also have six. On the women’s side, Grete Waitz stands with seven.
– It will be difficult to take the king’s trophy for the others, said NRK’s expert Vebjørn Rodal.
