AC Milan News – Reports from Italy reveal that AC Milan have completed their search for a new sporting director, deciding to promote chief youth scout Antonio D’Ottavio.
The Rossoneri did not immediately name a replacement for Frederic Massara, who left last month with technical director Paolo Maldini.
AC Milan have instead decided to entrust their market work to CEO Giorgio Furlani, chief scout Geoffrey Moncada and coach Stefano Pioli’s opinion, allowing them to look for a long-term replacement in stride.
As reported by Corriere and Calciomercato.com, Milan have now decided to internally promote D’Ottavio, who is the head of scouting, to become the new sporting director.
D’Ottavio has been with the Rossoneri since July 2017 and previously spent time at Inter, Sunderland and Torino.
In recent years, he has worked closely with Moncada and become his right-hand man at the club, making the appointment an obvious choice for club management.
AC Milan have worked hard in the transfer market, selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle and finalizing a deal with Chelsea for Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
