(Sandefjords Blad) – The ship has technical problems. That is why it is docked at Thorøya. We hope to have the problem fixed during the day. But it is currently too early to say whether we can be back in traffic again tomorrow, CEO Brian Thorsted Hansen told Sandefjords Blad on Wednesday afternoon.
This led to yesterday’s last round-trip sailing to Strømstad being cancelled. Late on Wednesday night, he had to realize that his wish to be back in traffic again on Thursday morning, could not be fulfilled.
– But we expect to sail again in the afternoon, he wrote in an SMS to SB then.
But it won’t be like that. At 12 o’clock on Thursday, the Fjord Line manager says that they need more time to fix the problems.
Need more time
– We have just established that unfortunately we have to cancel today’s afternoon and evening tour as well. But we clearly expect to be back in traffic again on Friday morning, he says.
– Can you say something more concrete about what kind of technical problems are involved?
– No. It’s just about improving the things that need improvement. There are technical things we have to have in place. Now we have established that we need more time to fix it, replies the CEO.
Several thousand
He further says that he apologizes to everyone who has been affected by the cancellations in the last 24 hours. And now that the joint holiday has started, there are many passengers who are disappointed to note that the ship is out of traffic.
– In total, we are probably talking about around 3,000 passengers, says Thorsted Hansen.
– What does it mean financially for you?
– My comment on that is that it is sad and regrettable for all our customers who have booked a ticket and were looking forward to a trip with us. So here we are now, and we can’t transport them to Sweden either. It’s sad that we can’t. But I hope they understand the situation, he replies.
