FRANCE 2
In the United States, passengers on a roller coaster were stuck upside down for several hours after a breakdown.
At the top of a merry-go-round, thirty meters high in Crandon (Wisconsin, United States), the passengers got stuck upside down during a looping. On the ground, visitors to the funfair film the scene, flabbergasted. “I’ve never seen this before, it’s crazy, it’s scary”, comments a man. The attraction broke down in the middle of the loop. The emergency services went immediately to the scene, but the operation was delicate. The eight passengers are restrained by their only safety harness.
The carousel has however recently been inspected
The first victim is extracted after two hours to applause. The last one was extracted more than 3h30 after the start of the failure, still unexplained. “All we know is that there was a mechanical failure and the ride got stuck upright. However, it had recently been inspected by the State you Wisconsin“, explains Brennan Cook, fire captain. Everyone finally came out unscathed, without sequelae.
