Emergency Landing at Hamburg Airport: Airbus A321 Evacuated Due to Smoking Oven

Emergency at Hamburg Airport: The fire brigade arrived with a large contingent. Smoke suddenly came out of a furnace on an airplane.

An Airbus A321 had to make an emergency landing at Hamburg Airport on Thursday morning: As a spokesman for Hamburg Airport said when asked by t-online, a Turkish Airlines machine took off from Hamburg to Istanbul at 7.20 a.m. After half an hour, the machine had to turn back and make an emergency landing in Hamburg.

Task forces of the regular fire brigade supported the colleagues of the airport fire brigade, said a spokesman for the Hamburg fire brigade t-online. No one was injured in the emergency landing. The 155 passengers on board were evacuated by bus and the plane was checked.

Airport: passengers evacuated – machine should start again

The reason was a smoking oven in which food was heated. There was a “technical problem” on the plane, a spokesman for Turkish Airlines told the German Press Agency on Thursday morning. That’s why the Airbus had to turn around and land back in Hamburg.

As an airport spokeswoman for the dpa said, nothing had to be deleted. There was also no acute emergency. The oven is now “inactive,” added the airline spokesman. It will continue shortly with the same plane.

According to the airport press office, flight operations continued normally in addition to the emergency landing. So planes landed and took off in Fuhlsbüttel during the mission.
