Excelsior hoped for a rental deal with Taabouni, who also wanted to make the switch himself, until he received a financially attractive offer from Qatar. Feyenoord will receive a transfer fee of several hundred thousand euros. Taabouni is attracted by the Qatar Super League, the football association of Qatar. Which club he will actually play for will be announced at a later date.
21-year-old Taabouni has an ongoing contract with Feyenoord until mid-2024, with a club option for another year. He played a total of five official matches in the first team of Feyenoord.
