In 2016, Michel Tillaux, employee of the company Gueudry Constructions au Trait, next to Rouen (Seine Maritime)et stork enthusiast offers his boss to build and install a nesting box within the company itself.

And since this year, two storks have settled there and even made little ones.

In the family business managed by Jérémy Gueudry, the employees despaired of seeing storks one day settle in the nest box installed for several years in a storage space.

“It was an employee, Michel Tillaux, a stork enthusiast who had this idea in 2016”, indicates to 76 currentlyJerome Gueudry.

The company being specialized in construction, everyone obviously followed the idea of ​​this employee hoping to quickly welcome storks.

In 2019, we had no storks in our nest box. Michel therefore decided to create a cozy nest for them with branches,

And in March 2023, the (first) miracle happened: “A couple of storks settled down. »

The babies were born in early June

Then a few weeks later, at the beginning of June, a second miracle with the birth of two storks. The latter do not currently have first names. Well sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the company’s activity, the little ones and their parents can nevertheless easily be observed by the employees.

“The little ones are starting to have colors, especially in the wings, which they are starting to extend and which turn black,” explains Jerome Gueudry. The employees and their manager hope to see Odette and Gaston again next year and why not welcome new children.

The company, created in 1962, is committed to a CSR (corporate social responsibility) approach “for the well-being of the ecosystem”.
