When asked about the origins of his visit to the All England Club, Vondrouov replied, “I am friends with Jirka Veselý, who attends our concerts. I used to play tennis myself. In fact, we competed against each other in the senior championships in Frdlant, about twenty years ago.”
He added, “Sports inspire me. I am from Beskydy. When I have time, I run up Lysá hora or Smrk. I have completed the Beskydská sedmika, a 101-kilometer race.”
