Riverfront Park’s Fourth of July Festival Canceled Due to Extreme Weather

Riverfront Park in North Charleston, South Carolina, was forced to cancel its Fourth of July Festival due to extreme weather conditions. The festival, which was scheduled from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., was supposed to feature food trucks and live music from the North Charleston POPS and DJ Natty Heavy.

In a Facebook post, Riverfront Park informed attendees that they were in a shelter-in-place situation until the storm passed. However, they assured everyone that the fireworks display would still take place at 9 p.m. The park expressed hope that everyone would be able to attend the fireworks show.

The cancellation was prompted by powerful storms in the area. Although a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Charleston and Berkeley County had been issued earlier in the evening, it expired at 6 p.m. Nevertheless, less severe storms continued to affect the area.

Unfortunately, the extreme weather conditions prevented the Fourth of July Festival from proceeding as planned. Riverfront Park apologized for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation.
