Roberto Firmino Signs Three-Year Contract with Al Ahli as Next Top Player in Saudi Arabia

Roberto Firmino is the next top player to continue his career in Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian was transfer-free after his departure from Liverpool and makes the switch to Al Ahli.

Firmino, 31, reportedly signs a three-year contract with Al Ahli. At Liverpool, he decided not to extend his contract after last season.

Firmino has played for Liverpool since 2015. In the successful year with the Champions League win in 2019, the attacker formed a golden trio with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané.

In total, Firmino made 362 appearances for Liverpool and scored 111 goals. Last season he had to be satisfied with a reserve role with coach Jürgen Klopp’s team, although he still scored eleven goals in the Premier League.

At Al Ahli, Firmino meets former Chelsea goalkeeper Édouard Mendy, among others. Hicham Faik, who played for sc Heerenveen, Excelsior and Roda JC in the past, among others, is also active for the Saudi club.

Firmino’s switch fits in with the trend that is going on. Recently, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté and a number of other renowned players could not resist the call from Saudi Arabia.
