Damjan Eror mutates more and more into a golden boy. At the U18 and U23 championships in Salzburg, he was victorious over 3,000 and 1,500 meters.
Treated as a favorite by everyone, Damjan lived up to his role. “Two laps from the finish, the EYOF fixed candidate easily pulled away from its competitors and won in 9:11.50 minutes. In doing so, he repeated what he had already achieved indoors in winter – junior champion over 3000m and 1500m. Eror already has six gold medals to his credit this year and is undefeated in Austrian title fights. Now it’s off to Livigno in Italy for 10 days with his training partner Denis Kronsteiner and trainer Milan Eror. Emilia Sandhofer improved her personal best time over 3,000 meters by four seconds and finished fifth in the U18 age group with a time of 11:07.03 minutes. Annika Gugerell stayed under the twelve-minute mark again and finished in ninth place.
With a time of 2:04.77 meters over the 800 meters, Georg Engel (age group U18) took sixth place. In the boys over the 3,000 meters, Matthias Waser (AK U18) finished eighth in 10:24.47 minutes.
