The results of the Brevet d’Etudes du Premier Cycle (BEPC) were made public on Monday by the Ministry of Pre-University Education and Literacy (MEPU-A) of Guinea throughout the national territory.
According to official statistics, only 34.05% of candidates were declared admitted to the exam, which highlights the persistent challenges facing the Guinean education system.
The announcement of the results of the BEPEC, which is a key exam for students at the end of secondary school in Guinea, was awaited with great concern by candidates, their families and teachers after those entering 7e Year that achieved more than 44% success.
From 15% in 2022 to 34% this session, candidates have practically doubled the admission rate for the Brevet in Guinea. However, the low level of Guinean education remains a challenge.
The Ministry of Pre-University Education and Literacy stressed that these results reflect the difficulties that the Guinean education system has been facing for many years. Factors such as the lack of adequate infrastructure, the low rate of pedagogical supervision, limited resources and recurrent strikes by teaching staff have all contributed to this worrying situation.
This success rate of 34.05% also raises questions about the quality of education and school programs in Guinea. Urgent educational reforms are needed to improve learning conditions, increase teacher training and put in place effective teaching resources.
The results of BEPEC in Guinea with only 34.05% of candidates admitted highlight the persistent problems of the education system of the country. This situation calls for concrete and immediate actions to improve the quality of education and provide equitable educational opportunities for all students.
