Artist Hossam Hosni announced, through his account on the social networking site Facebook, the death of his old friend, artist and singer Alaa Abdel Khaleq, one of the most prominent stars of the eighties and nineties generation, at the age of 59.

Alaa Abdel-Khaleq is considered a distinguished artistic case among the stars of singing in the eighties and nineties. He was born on February 23, 1964 AD. He studied music at the Institute of Arab Music and specialized in playing the flute.

He began his artistic career in the Friends Band with classmates: Mona Abdel-Ghani and the Mu’tazila singer Hanan, with their participation in the musician Ammar Al-Sharie’i, and they called it the Friends Band in 1980, and that band continued.

After that, he met Hamid Al-Shaeri, who helped him distribute and release his first album, Mersal, in 1985. Hamid Al-Shaeri participated with him in performing the song “I Love You Being” in the same album, then he released the album Weyaki in 1987, then the album Alashanak in 1989, then the album I will return to you 1990, and the album You Will Know Me 1991, the album I Changed 1992, the album Written in 1993, the album Lazem 1995, the 1997 Paper Airplane album, the 1998 dream album, the 2000 night album, the 2002 eye with an eye album, and after that he stopped singing in the early 2000s, due to a health problem that affected his vocal cords.
