The former captain of Sporting Club de Bastia, became after his retirement from sport in 2022, the assistant coach of Franck Haise on the bench of RC Lens. This Monday evening, the Lensois club announced the departure of Yannick Cahuzac.
After a more than successful season with a second place in the Ligue 1 championship standings, Yannick Cahuzac has left the RC Lens club, as indicated in the club’s official press release which states:
“With the greatest attention and the most sincere respect, Racing Club de Lens announces today that it has granted Yannick Cahuzac’s request to be released from his contract as assistant coach. For compelling personal reasons, the former captain Sang et Or will not take part in the resumption of this season. Racing, which will soon reveal the identity of the second deputy of the professional team, thanks Yannick Cahuzac for his four structuring seasons in Artois.
As a reminder, the former captain of Sporting had settled in the north of France in 2019, before retiring from sport in 2022 and becoming Franck Haise’s assistant on the Sang et Or bench last season. According to the newspaper l’Equipe, he should join the technical staff of OGC Nice to become the assistant of Francesco Francesco Farioli, the new coach of the Aiglons.
