07/02/23, Xalapa, Ver.- Within the framework of the 70th anniversary of the Theater Organization of the Universidad Veracruzana (Orteuv)¸ Rector Martín Aguilar Sánchez congratulated the members of the group for contributing to maintaining a first-rate artistic tradition and fostering the flourishing of a type of poetic and personal, intimate and colossal theater that has not disassociated itself from social issues .

The Rector attended the performance of the play “Rosalba y los Llaveros”, an emblematic piece in the repertoire of the Orteuvwritten by Emilio Carballido, one of the most powerful and revolutionary playwrights in Mexican literature, with which the cycle of activities alluding to the 70th anniversary concluded, and the last season began on June 22.

At the end of the theatrical presentation directed by Alberto Lomnitz in the “Emilio Carballido” room of the Teatro del Estado, the career of the actress Luz María Ordiales was also celebrated, to whom the Rector gave recognition for her 50 years of work at the UV .

“Her passionate commitment to the cause of theater and dance constitutes a source of knowledge and teachings available to anyone who wants to approach the performing arts with an open sense, heart and mind,” highlighted Aguilar Sánchez.

Luz María Ordiales thanked the tribute and expressed the pride and satisfaction that her dedication to teaching, dance and theater has represented in this house of studies.

Aguilar Sánchez stressed that the Orteuv is a benchmark on the Mexican scene: “Over 70 years, he has raised very radical and creative interrelationships, those that matter to us and move us to represent, investigate, and transform the society in which we live.”

When talking about the company’s contributions, he highlighted the creation of a long-term theatrical project that has given stable and decent work to numerous actors and actresses.
