The big fish have responded.
Unsurprisingly, it was the four favorites from Groups A and B of the Gold Cup – taking place in the United States and Canada – who obtained their ticket to the quarter-finals tonight. In pool A, the States finished first on goal difference after beating Trinidad and Tobago (6-0 with a second consecutive hat-trick for Jesús Ferreira) last night, just ahead of Jamaica, which also easily won against Saint-Christophe- and Nevis (4-1).

On the other side, three teams could still join Mexico in the quarters. Qatar (invited by CONCACAF), who offered The Three (1-0), validated his ticket thanks to a better goal difference than Honduras, yet winner of Haiti (2-1).
