Beukema is the fourth Dutchman at Bologna after Jerdy Schouten, Joshua Zirkzee and Sydney van Hooijdonk. The transfer fee of the defender is unknown. Beukema eventually came to 81 games in the shirt of AZ. In the summer of 2021, Beukema was taken over from Go Ahead Eagles for 900,000 euros.
Bologna finished ninth in the Italian Serie A last season. Thiago Motta is the new trainer of the Italians. Beukema was an important link in the defense of the Alkmaarders. Whether they will get a replacement is unknown, since they already have four center defenders in their ranks with Wouter Goes, Maxim Dekker, Pantelis Hatzidiakos and Bruno Martins Indi.
Trainer Pascal Jansen confirmed earlier that Beukema was probably going to make a transfer. Furthermore, according to the coach, there would be no concrete interest in other players.
