(CNN) Kraft Heinz, the leading ketchup maker, has sparked a bit of controversy over how it stores ketchup.

“Just for reference. Put the ketchup in the refrigerator!!!” The tweet, posted by Kraft Heinz UK on June 27, has been viewed by more than 4 million people.

The next day, the company asked users if they would put ketchup in the refrigerator via a Twitter poll.

Of the 13,000 responses to the question, “Where do you store your food?” On the other hand, “closet” remained at 36.8%.

Some opponents of cold ketchup pointed out that ketchup on restaurant tables is stored at room temperature. On the other hand, there was also a voice that it is natural to put ketchup that has been opened in the refrigerator, and there is no need to discuss it.

In 2017, Kraft Heinz US Inc. received the same question from a user on Twitter.

“Because of its natural acidity, Heinz ketchup can be stored in the cupboard, but to preserve the quality of the product, it should be refrigerated after opening,” was the answer at the time.
